We’re supporting the search for a commercially minded and people-driven General Manager to lead one of their established clubs in Wellingborough.This is an exciting opportunity to join a business undergoing positive cultural change, with strong leadership, national growth plans, and a clear commitment to internal development. This role would suit an experienced General Manager or ambitious Assistant Manager ready to step into full operational responsibility.The RoleAs General Manager, you will lead and motivate a multi-functional team to deliver exceptional service, operational excellence, and commercial performance. With full P&L accountability, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the club – spanning membership growth, team development, compliance and financial performance.Key Responsibilities:Full operational responsibility for the club’s performance, member satisfaction and financial successLead and manage the club’s departmental heads including fitness, member care and café-barDrive new member sales, renewals and retention through a strong commercial and service focusBudgetary oversight including P&L management, forecasting and financial reportingStaff development, HR, recruitment, and employee engagementEnsure Health & Safety compliance and uphold operational standards across the siteWork closely with the Regional Manager on business strategy, staffing, and performance reviewsPrepare and present SWOT analysis and action plans to support continuous improvementMonitor KPIs via a National Balanced Scorecard frameworkPerson Specification:Experience in a leadership role within leisure, hospitality or a related customer-focused industryProven team leadership and staff development experienceStrong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret and act on financial dataExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPassion for health, fitness and wellbeing – with a customer-first mindsetComfortable working flexibly including early mornings, evenings, and 1 in 4 weekend rotaStrong organisational and problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with Health & Safety and compliance standardsA background in nightclubs, bars, or gyms would be consideredSalary & Benefits:£42,000 basic salary (depending on experience)Up to £10,000 bonus per annum (paid quarterly based on performance)Free gym membershipComplimentary meals on shift28 days annual leave (increasing with tenure)Life AssuranceDiscounts: 50% café/bar, 30% spa treatments, 20% retailComplimentary second membership after 2 yearsCareer development and internal progressionMental health and wellbeing supportStaff awards, bonuses, and national conferencesLocation: Wellingborough – Commutable from Northampton, Kettering, Bedford, Milton Keynes, and surrounding areasInterview Process: Single-stage interview.
