Love festivals, storytelling & strategy? Lead bold campaigns for our distinctive festival portfolio and help shape the cultural voice of Aberdeen.
We’re looking for a creative, confident marketeer to lead bold, engaging campaigns that bring our festivals to life. If you’re excited by the challenge of connecting with diverse audiences through smart strategy, compelling storytelling, and imaginative campaigns, read on.
This is a FT, permanent role primarily based at the Music Hall, with flexibility across our venues and options for hybrid working. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you’ll be a key part of our team, shaping the public voice of our six unique festivals: Granite Noir, Delve, Light the Blue, Aberdeen Queer Arts Festival, Comedy Festival, and our International Season.
Your mission:
• Lead campaigns from concept through to post-festival reflection
• Define brand identities and messaging for each festival
• Build inclusive, curious, and effective audience strategies
• Collaborate with colleagues, creatives, and external partners
• Deliver media plans, comms timelines, creative briefs, and assets
• Monitor sales, analyse insights, and inform future planning
You’ll thrive here if you:
• Have solid marketing experience—ideally in arts, culture, or live events
• Enjoy creating campaigns and narratives that resonate
• Are highly organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple projects
• Think strategically and visually, and communicate clearly
• Believe in the power of culture to inspire, include, and connect
Bonus points if you:
• Have worked on festivals or live events (in marketing, comms, or production)
• Are confident with CMS/CRM systems and digital tools
• Are curious, collaborative, and energised by creative work
What success looks like:
Month 3: You’re confident with our programme and planning upcoming campaigns
Month 6: You’re leading multiple festival campaigns with clarity and flair
Month 12: You’ve grown audiences and helped our festivals reach new heights
How to apply:
Send your CV and a short cover letter (max 1 A4 page), or a video/audio message (up to 5 mins), telling us:
• What excites you about the role and why you’re a good fit
• About a campaign you’ve led or your approach to event marketing
• What you’d bring to the team and hope to learn or shape
We welcome applications in any format that’s accessible for you.
