We are currently recruiting a full-time Community Development Officer to join our Communities Team, based in Glasgow, on a fixed term contract.
The post-holder will predominantly support the New Scots Core Group Advisers and their involvement in supporting the implementation of the New Scots Strategy. The group aims to represent and advocate for a cross-section of the New Scots communities. As New Scots Core Group members they have a role in monitoring the progress of the New Scots Delivery Plan.
Specifically, this role will focus on our approach to community learning and development. As a consequence, the role will directly contribute to two of our core strategic objectives:
* Nothing about refugees without refugees
* Our expertise informs good policy, practice and advice
We are looking for a person with either a qualification in community development or equivalent experience; preferably with experience of working with refugees.
As this is a fixed term project you will need to make an immediate contribution to the design and development of the community learning and development approach. In addition to having a friendly, dynamic and gregarious nature, you will need excellent communication skills both face to face and electronic as well as flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving needs.
