If you’re customer-service driven, thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the idea of turning generous donations into meaningful income for hospice care – we’d love to hear from you. ️ About the Role As Deputy Shop Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy, friendly and well-established shop alongside our Shop Manager. You’ll help lead a committed team of staff and volunteers to deliver great customer experiences, maintain strong stock flow, and achieve sales targets – all while supporting our vital work in the community. You'll: Support with shop operations including opening and closing procedures Lead and motivate volunteers and staff, creating a positive and inclusive environment Deliver excellent customer service and promote Gift Aid to boost revenue Sort, price and merchandise stock to maximise appeal and sales Step into the Shop Manager’s role in their absence Ensure cash handling, till operations and shop standards are carried out safely and efficiently About You We’re looking for someone with: A passion for people and great service Previous experience in retail (charity or high street preferred) Strong organisational skills and a positive, hands-on attitude The ability to support and motivate volunteers Flexibility to adapt to changing needs, including weekend cover A creative flair for merchandising and attention to detail This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop in a retail leadership role – whether you’re progressing your career at Dougie Mac or looking for a new challenge in a community-driven environment.
