Architectural Technician – Derbyshire County Council (Amber Valley Housing Team)
Job Overview
This role involves carrying out the technical functions related to the delivery of housing grants, including disabled facility grants, designing schemes, tendering, feasibility studies, production of working drawings, specification writing, submitting planning applications and contract documentation. The successful candidate will mainly deliver adaptations to domestic homes, working on site and occasionally from home.
Responsibilities
* Conduct feasibility studies for domestic household adaptations.
* Produce working drawings and specification documents.
* Submit planning applications and manage contract documentation.
* Interpret legislation, reports, data, architectural drawings and plans.
* Apply knowledge of housing grants legislation, Building Regulations and procurement practices.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in Architecture, Building Construction or Architectural Technology.
* Experience using design software such as CAD.
* Good IT skills and ability to organise and prioritise own work.
* Knowledge of housing grants legislation, technical and operational issues.
* Understanding of Building Regulations applicable to domestic dwellings.
