Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Chemistry with a desire to instil a love of science in young men? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Chemistry department in an independent boys' school with a strong academic focus in Richmond.

About the Science Department:

The Science department is a collaborative and dynamic team with a shared commitment to fostering a love of science in our students. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. We have well-equipped laboratories and access to the latest technology and resources to support students' learning and exploration of science.

About the Role:

* Teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and technology, to bring Chemistry to life for students.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Chemistry curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
* Foster a love of Chemistry in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the chemical world and develop their scientific understanding.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Participate in relevant professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Chemistry education.
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as science clubs and competitions.

Ideal Candidate:

* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching Chemistry and a commitment to student success.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Chemistry and relevant examination specifications.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
