The Role

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council are looking to recruit to the post of Policy & Scrutiny Support Officer, a varied role that sits at the forefront of delivering on the Council’s key ambitions and supporting vital quality assurance processes. The role sits in the broader Policy and Scrutiny team which has responsibilities around Resident Engagement and the Equalities agenda, Corporate Performance reporting, Business Planning, and the Council’s Scrutiny function, alongside wider improvement support to services across all areas of the Council.

The role also supports the Policy and Scrutiny team to drive forward wider transformation and improvement work with services across all areas of the Council, including in high profile areas such as Children’s Services.

The post holder will report to the Senior Policy Officer and will be confident engaging with and providing robust advice to a range of stakeholders including residents, senior officers, and elected members, and will work professionally and impartially in a political environment.
