market-leading manufacturing group
supplying products across food, consumer, agricultural, logistics, and environmental sectors, is seeking a high-calibre Senior Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller in Kingston upon Hull. This is a hands-on role with real leadership exposure and the chance to develop broad commercial and operational finance skills.
The Role
This is a
developmental leadership opportunity
combining technical accounting with commercial insight and team responsibility. You will gain experience across financial reporting, operational performance, and process improvement, building the foundation for a future finance leadership role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supporting a small finance team (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Finance Apprentice)
* Taking ownership of the monthly management accounts process, including P&L, fixed asset register, capex review, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing and reviewing monthly reporting packs, with insightful commentary on performance
* Delivering timely financial information to support weekly reporting and monthly management accounts
* Producing accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany and funding balances
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance financial insight
* Reviewing and challenging forecasts for accuracy
* Delivering variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) and supporting annual budgeting and planning

You will be:
* Newly, nearly, or fully qualified (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA)
* Confident, commercially aware, and able to translate financial information into clear, actionable insight
* Analytical, highly organised, and comfortable meeting tight deadlines
* Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
* Able to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels
Previous
manufacturing sector experience
is advantageous but not essential — the focus is on ambition, capability, and the drive to grow into a leadership role.
