Overview
We need a versatile and enthusiastic officer to improve services for victims of VAWG and modern slavery. You'll have a wide range of duties, including developing and implementing initiatives to support victims, organising and delivering training, and other activities to raise awareness among the public and professionals and building problem profiles for key issues to steer our planning and priorities. Key partners will include our commissioned third sector services.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement initiatives to support victims of VAWG and modern slavery.
* Organise and deliver training and other activities to raise awareness among the public and professionals.
* Build problem profiles for key issues to guide planning and priorities.
* Coordinate regular case panels for high-risk domestic abuse and modern slavery cases, providing access to information on local trends and issues.
* Collaborate with commissioned third sector services and other partners.
Team and environment
The post is based in our lively and friendly Safer Communities team, working alongside staff tackling gang issues, anti-social behaviour, town centre concerns, prevention of extremism and other crime reduction work, creating opportunities for collaboration.
Requirements
* Excellent partnership and communication skills.
* Understanding of the needs of victims.
* Knowledge of relevant policy and legislation.
