Job Title: Year 4 1‑to‑1 Teaching Assistant (SEND Support)

Contract: Term‑time only - Long‑term
Hours: Full‑time
Salary: Approx. £90‑£110/day depending on experience and qualifications
Start Date: As soon as possible / from September 2025 (or insert date)
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic 1‑to‑1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with additional educational needs (SEND). The role will involve working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo to help the pupil access the curriculum, develop confidence, and make academic, social and emotional progress.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual support to the named pupil during lessons and other school activities
Assist with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
Adapt resources and help the pupil understand instructions
Support behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social interaction skills
Monitor, record and report on pupil progress
Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement
Liaise with teachers, SENDCo, parents, and outside agencies (if relevant)
Person Specification: Skills & Experience
We would like someone who has:
Experience working 1‑to‑1 with pupils (in primary settings ideal), especially with SEND
Good understanding/awareness of learning strategies, behaviour needs, differentiation
Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, resilience
Qualifications/skills in literacy & numeracy at least to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from lead professionals
Enhanced DBS clearance (or ability to get one)
Flexibility/adaptability
