We're currently recruiting an experienced Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking team developing cutting-edge solutions across the Defence, Industrial, and Scientific sectors. This is a hands-on design role offering a real opportunity to influence complex electronic systems from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and development of digital and analogue electronic hardware for advanced embedded systems.
* Ownership of full hardware lifecycle: concept, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and validation.
* Development and execution of test plans, specifications, and procedures.
* Close collaboration with software, mechanical, and systems teams.
* Support production, troubleshooting, and design-for-manufacture improvements.
* Technical customer support and occasional site visits.
* Authoring and maintenance of detailed design documentation.
* Provision of consultancy and subject-matter expertise to clients when required.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in FPGA design and VHDL programming.
* Extensive hands-on PCB design and layout experience, ideally using Altium Designer.
* Strong understanding of digital and analogue circuit design, including high-speed switching and signal integrity considerations.
* Working knowledge of EMC design principles.
* Experience with A/D and D/A converters and supporting circuitry.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with high-voltage circuit design.
* Understanding of optical systems and electronics.
