Job Description:
* Safely operate and manoeuvre an HGV Class 1 vehicle in compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
* Transport goods and materials between specified locations, adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines.
* Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle and/or trailer to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked in compliance with legal and company requirements.
* Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times.
* Communicate effectively with management, dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Utilize navigation systems and maps to plan efficient routes and minimize fuel consumption.
* Adhere to driving regulations regarding rest periods and maximum driving hours, prioritizing safety and compliance.
* Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and members of the public.
* Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
Requirements:
* Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
* Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
* Digital Tachograph Card.
* Minimum of one year's experience as an HGV Class 1 driver.
* Excellent driving record with no more than 6 points on your licence.
* Strong knowledge of UK road regulations and driving laws.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
* Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
* Physically fit and able to handle the demands of long-haul driving, including lifting and moving heavy loads.
* Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required by the business.
