Main duties of the job:

This appointment is for a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist with an interest in Lung Cancers for a period of 12 months to cover a maternity leave. This is split 2 days at Salisbury District Hospital (SDH) and 2 days a week at University Hospital Southampton (UHS).

You Will Join The Medical Oncology Consultant Team, Specifically

* To provide specialist Medical Oncology input with expertise in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy for these groups of patients.
* To treat patients with Lung cancers at UHS and SDH.
* To provide support to the Respiratory team for inpatient admissions with Lung Cancer.
* To provide oncology input to the UHS/SDH lung MDTs.

The post is available as a part time 9 PA post.

You must hold Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.

Qualifications, Training & Experience

* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems

* Understanding of equality and diversity and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
* Evidence of effective communication and liaison with patients and colleagues (verbal and written in English)
