SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) - Staines SEN Tutor Opportunity in Staines We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) to join our specialist post-16 education provision in Staines. This rewarding SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) role offers the opportunity to support young people aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adulthood and progression into supported internships. Based in Staines, the successful SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) will work with higher-ability SEND learners, supporting them to achieve their individual goals and progress towards supported internships, further learning and employment opportunities. This SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) position in Staines is ideal for someone with experience in SEND education, Further Education, vocational learning or employability programmes who is passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes. About the SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) Role As a SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) in Staines, you will deliver engaging and personalised learning programmes using a RARPA framework, supporting learners working from Entry Level 3 through to Level 2. The SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) will play a key role in preparing learners for adulthood by developing employability skills, confidence, independence and workplace readiness. Working from our Staines provision, you will help learners build practical skills including interview preparation, work experience participation, travel training and communication skills. This SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) opportunity in Staines combines classroom teaching, learner support and employability development within a specialist SEND setting. Key Responsibilities of the SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) Teaching and Learning The SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) will: Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning programmes using the RARPA framework. Deliver personalised learning that meets individual learner needs. Teach learners within mixed-ability groups working towards supported internship readiness. Promote learners' intellectual, personal and social development. Embed English, Maths and British Values throughout the curriculum. Design and deliver engaging PSHE sessions. Support learners to become work-ready and independent. Assessment and Progress Monitoring As a SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship), you will: Assess learner progress and achievement using RARPA methodologies. Produce learner reports and maintain accurate records. Conduct progress reviews and contribute to annual review meetings. Set, monitor and review learner targets. Work with quality assurance processes to evidence learner achievement. Support learners in achieving meaningful progression outcomes. Employability and Curriculum Development The SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) will: Deliver employability-focused learning programmes. Support learners with interview preparation and workplace skills. Facilitate access to work experience opportunities. Deliver Skills Builder and other employability programmes. Collaborate with colleagues to develop learning resources and schemes of work. Help learners prepare for supported internships and future employment opportunities. Learner Support and Safeguarding The SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) will: Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external professionals. Support positive behaviour and learner wellbeing. Ensure risk assessments and health and safety procedures are followed. Maintain high standards of safeguarding and learner welfare. Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive environment in Staines. About You To be successful in this SEN Tutor (Pre-Supported Internship) role, you will have: Experience working with young people with SEND. Strong teaching, coaching or training skills. Knowledge of employability, independence and life-skills development. A good understanding of English and Maths. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learner needs. A commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes. A teaching qualification such as the Award in Education and Training (Level 3) or Diploma in Education and Training (Level 5), or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.
