AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including the public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support partners with a global list of customers building mission-critical applications on AWS services.
We are hiring Solutions Architects to engage with customers, understand their business drivers, assess application portfolios, and design reliable, cost-effective cloud-native architectures. As a Solutions Architect, you will collaborate with various AWS teams to create solutions that address business problems and promote AWS service adoption.
You should enjoy thinking strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. We seek candidates comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. The Solutions Architect role requires broad competence across many technology areas (infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, data analytics, AI/ML) with deep expertise in at least 2-3 areas. On the business side, connecting technology with measurable business value is essential for customer success. The Solutions Architect will interact daily with customer stakeholders, including Developers, Engineers, Directors, and CxOs.
Key job responsibilities
1. Partner with the Business Development team to formulate and execute sales strategies that exceed revenue objectives through AWS adoption.
2. Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on AWS as a key member of the solutions architecture team.
3. Educate customers on AWS's value proposition and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment.
4. Conduct training sessions (e.g., Dev Days, Immersion Days) to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
5. Share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community.
6. Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers.
7. Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams, and Support.

Minimum requirements
* 4+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data analytics.
* 4+ years of experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting.
* 10+ years of IT development or consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
* Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
* Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud.
* Experience with AWS technologies from a DevOps perspective.
