£51,356 - £55,631 per year. Applications are invited for a Lead Officer for Education Welfare and Safeguarding to contribute to the improvement of Attendance in Swansea schools and the Safeguarding provision across the local authority.
The City and County of Swansea Education Directorate is looking to appoint a Lead Officer for Education Welfare and Safeguarding. This is a key role in terms of improving attendance across Swansea's schools and a critical position in terms of Education Safeguarding across the local authority.
The Lead Officer role is varied and broad:
* Line management responsibility for the Education Welfare Service and the Education Safeguarding Team
* Strategic lead for improving Attendance in Swansea schools and Safeguarding Children and Child Protection provision across the local authority
* Liaison with a range of stakeholders (parents and carers, school leaders, Social Services, etc) to ensure effective partnership working
The successful candidate will be joining a successful and passionate team of attendance and safeguarding experts who drive improvement with a child-centred, community focused approach.
The post will commence on 1st January 2026 (or as soon as possible) and is a permanent post.
