Join Us as Director of Creative Arts within the Mission Service to Lead, Inspire, and Empower Creative Ministry Across the UK & Ireland
Are you a passionate and visionary leader with a heart for creative ministry? The Salvation Army United Kingdom & Ireland Territory (UKIT) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Creative Arts to guide and develop our Creative Arts Department within the Mission Service.
In this pivotal role, you will shape the strategic direction of creative arts across all expressions of our mission, empowering and equipping individuals and groups throughout the UKIT. You’ll collaborate with local, divisional, and territorial teams to deliver inspiring worship, discipleship, evangelism, and outreach through a wide spectrum of creative arts-including music, dance, musical theatre, and contemporary worship.
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead a dedicated team and manage multiple projects and events, including national youth music programmes and public performances.
2. Provide Christian spiritual leadership and ensure all activities reflect the mission, doctrine, and values of The Salvation Army.
3. Champion inclusivity and diversity, supporting both traditional and contemporary expressions of creative ministry.
4. Collaborate across departments and divisions, offering training, resources, and guidance to empower local leaders and communities.
5. Steward a substantial operating budget and ensure excellence in financial and operational management.
We are looking for someone who:
6. Is a practicing Christian and an active Soldier within The Salvation Army.
7. Brings senior management experience in creative arts ministry and strategic leadership.
8. Is skilled in one or more areas such as choral music, brass music, dance, musical theatre, or contemporary worship.
9. Demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and people management skills.
10. Is committed to safeguarding, inclusivity, and fostering spiritual growth through creative expression.
11. Is flexible and willing to travel across the UK & Ireland for events and engagements.
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed, active and practising Salvationist and an active Soldier within your local Corps.
