Mental Health Nurses Needed!
We need passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at an acute hospital in the South West England, to assist and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
Description:
The priority for the post holder will be to provide
1. High level of nursing and observation
2. Delivering a range of nursing and psychosocial interventions to help reduce the patients' distress.
3. Assist and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
4. Provide one-to-one nursing for behaviorally disturbed, distressed, or confused patients
5. Offer support and advice to patients presenting with a range of undifferentiated mental health, psychological problems, and psychiatric illnesses
6. Deliver a range of nursing and psychosocial interventions to individual patients and their families, as appropriate
7. Assist and support general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations
8. Represent mental health services within the general hospital
Skills:
9. Demonstrable experience of working in mental health setting
10. Knowledge and experience of adult safeguarding procedures
11. Restraint of patients using approved techniques
12. Handling patient valuables and storing appropriately
13. Ability to deal with emotional and distressing situations
14. Excellent interpersonal skills
15. Respects the privacy and dignity of individual
16. Ability to manage demanding situations
17. Ability to cope with exposure to aggressive behaviour
18. The ability to plan own workload
19. To have knowledge of Mental Health presentations and appropriate interventions.
20. NMC Code of Conduct.
21. Knowledge of risk management and how to plan care to account for risk.
