<div><p><b>Store Protection Officer – Waitrose</b></p><p>Portishead<br/>£15.64 per hour<br/>Guaranteed number of hours per week, permanent location<br/>Breaks unpaid</p><h3>Job Overview</h3><ul><li>Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.</li><li>£15.64 per hour payrate alongside Mitie benefits such as Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers.</li><li>Opportunity to join the evolving Waitrose and Mitie family.</li><li>Full and extensive training will be provided, including MAYBO and key focus on customer service.</li><li>Company‑funded SIA licence renewal.</li><li>Support from the NOC with technology such as body‑worn camera and incident reporting device.</li><li>Deliver results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.</li></ul><h3>What We Are Looking For</h3><ul><li>Previous security experience.</li><li>SIA Licence.</li><li>Excellent communication skills at all levels.</li><li>Energy and enthusiasm.</li></ul><h3>Main Duties – Operations</h3><ul><li>Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and guidance bodies.</li><li>Fully engage with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management and use all technology provided, including body cameras and mobile devices, to aid in the reporting of all incidents.</li><li>Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).</li><li>Proactively review the published AIs, suggest amendments that improve or enhance service levels.</li><li>Remain compliant with industry and statutory legislation, wearing the required front‑line licence at all times; complete additional contractual courses as required.</li><li>Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way.</li></ul><h3>Main Duties – Training</h3><ul><li>Fully complete all required competency training.</li><li>Undertake training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.</li><li>Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.</li><li>Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.</li></ul><h3>Main Duties – Security and Health & Safety</h3><ul><li>Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.</li><li>Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss, or damage.</li><li>Use common sense and initiative, involving others immediately if a situation appears to become threatening.</li><li>Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.</li><li>Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, to be used as part of the Incident Report process.</li><li>Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.</li><li>Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.</li><li>Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly rate of £15.64.</li><li>Company‑funded SIA licence renewal.</li><li>Access to body‑worn camera and incident reporting technology.</li><li>Extensive training and opportunity for professional development.</li><li>Additional benefits include Cycle to Work, Life Assurance, and Share Incentive Plan.</li></ul><p>Equal Opportunity Employer – We welcome applications from all candidates.
