Credit Risk Operations Analyst - JP Morgan - Edinburgh - 12 months contract - ONSITE - PAYE
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Credit Risk Operations Analyst to join JP Morgan's EMEA Covenants team in Edinburgh on an initial 12 months contract with the potential to convert to permanent in the future. We are happy to consider candidates with operations experience within Financial Services and even open to recent graduates.
As an Analyst in the EMEA Covenants team, you will be responsible for supporting covenant monitoring and credit risk oversight across a portfolio of credit facilities. You will also be involved and lead automation, projects and process improvements.

Role & Responsibilities
* Covenant setup and monitoring, including accurate capture of terms, thresholds, testing frequency, and supporting documentation
* Ensuring strong data quality and controls to support internal governance and external/regulatory reporting requirements
* Producing, reviewing, and analysing control reports, metrics, and exception reporting to identify trends and risks
* Participating in projects and initiatives (process improvement, automation, reporting enhancements, control uplift) as required
* Escalating issues clearly and promptly, applying sound judgment and risk sensitivity in day-to-day decision-making
Required Qualifications/Skills
* Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel proficiency (complex formulas, large datasets, data validation, reconciliations)
* Demonstrated ability to work with complex spreadsheets and build structured, well-controlled monitoring templates
* Ability to interpret documentation and develop an understanding of legal/credit terms, applying pragmatic business judgment
* Strong attention to detail with a clear commitment to accuracy and quality
* Proven ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a controlled environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; confidence engaging with stakeholders across functions
Desirable Qualifications/Skills
* Exposure to covenant monitoring, credit operations, credit risk, or private banking operations
* Automation / data tooling experience (beneficial)
* Alteryx (workflow automation, repeatable controls)
