Senior UX/UI Designer

governr is the AI control infrastructure for regulated industries. We help organisations govern AI safely, compliantly, and at scale. We move fast, care about craft, and we're looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer who gets both.
This isn't a role where you'll be tweaking button colours. You'll be designing for genuinely hard problems: compliance workflows, audit trails, risk visualisation, and human-in-the-loop interfaces where the stakes are real. If that kind of complexity excites you rather than puts you off, read on.
What you'll do
* Lead the UX process for key products and features: discovery, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs
* Conduct and interpret user research (interviews, usability tests, surveys, analytics) to inform design decisions and prioritisation
* Create clear information architecture, navigation structures and interaction patterns that support user goals and business outcomes
* Produce detailed design specifications, interaction behaviours and redlines for engineering handover and support during implementation
* Develop and maintain a cohesive design system (components, patterns, tokens) and ensure consistent application across products
* Collaborate closely with product, engineers and stakeholders to align on problem definition, scope and iterative delivery
* Use data and qualitative feedback to validate hypotheses, refine designs and continuously improve user experience
* Advocate for user-centric design, accessibility and inclusive design practices across the organisation
What we're looking for
* 5+ years of UX/UI experience, with a strong portfolio of web app work
* Background in financial services or similarly regulated, complex environments
* Proven experience creating and maintaining design systems
* Someone who thinks in systems and flows, not just screens
* Confident communicating design decisions to stakeholders and pushing back when needed
* Proficient in Figma, with experience across the full design workflow from wireframes to high-fidelity
* Comfortable using AI tools to support and accelerate your work. We actively encourage it
Nice to have
* Experience designing data-heavy or workflow-intensive products such as dashboards, admin tools or B2B platforms
* Experience working with design tokens and integrating design systems into front-end codebases
* Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, component libraries, design-to-dev workflows) to collaborate effectively with engineers
* Experience running design workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders or users
