Job overview
Herts & West Essex Integrated Care Board (HWE ICB) is looking for an experienced All Age Continuing Care Efficiency, PUPOC and Verification Nurse who has specialised knowledge and experience of working with individuals with complex care needs. You will have worked in either a specialised or community setting with experience of the Continuing Healthcare process. With knowledge and experiencing in Previously Un-assessed Periods of Care (PUPOC), Verification and project management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
* Quality verification and audit for efficiency and PUPOC cases
* Retrospective request clinical management and oversight
* The presentation of recommendations and issues to Panels when there is dispute in interpreting the continuing care criteria and in very complex or expensive cases.
* Carry out reviews and assessments
* Provide professional advice to patients, carers and multi-agency colleagues, including signposting to appropriate services and resources.
* Understand financial and efficiency planning and processes.
* An in depth understanding of Retrospective national policy and process.
The role will require a high level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work supportively and effectively with individuals and their families ensuring that they are fully involved throughout the process.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health) – with current registration
* Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
* Experience of Retrospective policies
* Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience of working in the NHS/public body
* Evidence of working knowledge of CHC
* Excellent understanding of the current issues impacting on the NHS, governance, policy and an experience of its implications so as to interpret and communicate them locally
* Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
* Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
* Experience of managing risks and reporting
Communication Skills
* Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
* Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
