Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.
If you are a Head of Membership with proven experience in member engagement working for similar organizations such as Trade Associations, Professional Bodies, Membership Organizations, Subscription Organizations, Not-for-Profit, Charities, Engineering, Built Environment, Construction, Property, Building Safety, Real Estate, Housing, Surveying, Planning, or the Public Sector, we would love to hear from you.
The Role of Head of Membership Engagement
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering membership engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies to ensure the organization:
* Delivers excellent support to members
* Ensures retention of current members
* Increases recruitment of new members
Duties and responsibilities
* Review current approaches to membership engagement, recruitment, and retention; devise strategies to strengthen activities in these areas
* Build and maintain strong relationships with members at a senior level
* Identify prospective companies for membership
* Implement a membership growth strategy targeting prospects across the UK, aiming for annual growth in all segments
* Engage with existing and prospective members at CEO/executive level
* Communicate the benefits of membership effectively
* Address queries about member benefits
* Improve processes and systems to enhance member experience
* Create feedback loops and collaborate across teams
* Design and implement an annual Membership Survey
* Manage membership applications and renewals, working with the Finance Director on rates and payments
* Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions
* Promote activities and resources through various channels
Person specification – Knowledge and experience
* Significant experience in growing membership and managing membership services in similar organizations
* Experience in developing administrative processes
* Strategic planning and business development skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at CEO/executive level
* Experience with CRM databases
The role requires networking and team-working skills, with attendance at events across England and Wales. While primarily based in London, travel will be necessary.
