Vision for Education is currently recruiting caring and reliable SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a part-time, flexible basis in specialist SEND schools across Sunderland. This opportunity is ideal for university students, parents, or anyone seeking meaningful work that fits around their schedule.
As a part-time SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You may work 1:1, with small groups, or within a classroom, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported in school.
The Ideal Part-Time SEND Teaching Assistant Will Have:
1. A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach
2. An interest in Special Educational Needs and inclusive education
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills
4. A calm and positive attitude towards behaviour support
5. Availability for flexible, part-time work (days chosen by you)
Experience in SEND, education, care, youth work, or support roles is beneficial but not essential. Full support and training are provided.
