SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Mainstream)
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands (B69)
Position Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM – 3:30PM)
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: Negotiable (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Long-Term | Daily Flexible Supply

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary mainstream school on a long-term basis.
At Prospero Teaching, we work closely with local schools to provide high-quality staffing solutions that support both pupils and teaching staff. By joining our team, you’ll play a vital role in helping schools meet the individual needs of children, particularly those requiring additional support to thrive in the classroom.
About the Role:
· Supporting children with a range of SEND needs within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
· Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure all pupils have access to a tailored and enriching education.
· Assisting with the preparation of resources and creating a supportive learning environment.
· Providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
· Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider team.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
· Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.
· Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
· Experienced in supporting pupils with communication difficulties, ASD, or other complex needs.
Essential Requirements:
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
· A valid Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
· Able to provide two recent, child-related professional references (covering the last two years)
· Have previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a UK primary school setting
· Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in education or childcare
