The role
GoCardless is seeking a self‑motivated, curious, and inspired brand designer to join our design team. You will help expand the brand footprint and enhance the product experience, creating a significant impact on how the GoCardless brand is perceived.
Must have skills
* Figma – native skill required, plus strong focus on building scalable, automated design systems. Comfortable with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and able to prepare assets for production.
AI
You are familiar with and enthusiastic about the role AI plays in design. Whether generating assets, expediting processes, or building your own tools, you see its use as a force multiplier.
* Art direction – you have discerning visual taste and can apply that judgement across a spectrum of disciplines and channels, including email nurture campaigns, global marketing campaigns, product launches, and headline events.
* Motion design tools – experience creating micro‑animations and interactive elements with After Effects, Jitter, Cavalry, Rive, or equivalent.
* Emerging design tools – you enjoy constantly evolving your skillset and exploring novel ways of working.

This role sits within our Global Growth team, working closely with content and marketing stakeholders to drive organic sign‑ups. Your main focus will be creating engaging paid and organic social media assets that showcase our brand and attract target merchants, plus

* Acquisition campaigns across the addressable market (digital ads, landing pages, events, direct mail)
* In‑life growth (lifecycle) marketing campaigns

* Design operations – optimising how we work
Salary range
£43,200 to £64,800, depending on geography, experience, interview assessment, and internal parity.
