SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Engineer / Day Shift Team Leader to join a new Energy from Waste power station in near Chelmsford, Essex.
This is a key role within the operations team, supporting the Operations Manager in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the facility. The successful candidate will play an active role in operational coordination, safety leadership and continuous improvement across a 24/7 process environment.
The role will involve:
Supporting the day-to-day coordination of plant operations and material handling processes
Operating and monitoring the DCS to maintain plant performance when required
Assisting in the control and optimisation of waste throughput and power export
Supporting permit-to-work activities and safe system of work compliance
Coordinating with maintenance teams to facilitate planned and reactive works
Monitoring plant performance, emissions and environmental compliance
Supporting external compliance monitoring activities
Dropping on to shift to cover Shift Team Leaders during periods of absence
Contributing to operational improvement projects and process optimisation initiatives
Supporting production planning, consumables management and residue handling operations
Deputising for the Operations Manager when required
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Experience at Shift Team Leader or similar level working within a continuous process environment such as power generation, EfW, biomass, petrochemical, cement or other high-temperature industrial plant
A technical engineering qualification is preferred e.g. HNC/ONC/NVQ Level 3 etc
Strong operational understanding of plant safety, environmental compliance and performance optimisation
Previous experience as an SAP
Experience operating or supporting DCS-controlled plant
Previous supervisory or people management experience within an industrial setting
A proactive, analytical and organised approach with strong communication skills
