Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A prison located in Littleton. The prison is a male facility serving life sentences with a capacity of 690 inmates. The role will be based on site‑based work; the night shift requires full shift payment (12.5 hours) as security will keep staff on‑site until 2200 after emergencies.
Hours and Salary
37.5 hours per week: 07:30 am – 20:00 pm shifts or potential night shifts 19:30 pm – 08:00 am. Three long days, four long days every fourth week. Salary range £34,428 – £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
* Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Provide evidence‑based care, seek out, listen to and act on patient feedback, ensuring care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Adult – NMC.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Understanding of complexities of multidisciplinary and multi‑agency working.
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
