Join a company involved with several major development projects, with sites that are being land-raised and engineered to enable house building. All sites are permitted by the Environment Agency.
They are looking to appoint a new Head of Planning to lead all planning activity across the portfolio of active and strategic landholdings. In this crucial role, you will oversee the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications and appeals, the production of planning appraisals, and the management of planning projects.
If you wish to focus on internal planning needs, that is absolutely fine, but if you would welcome the opportunity to further develop services into a broader commercial offering to external partners and customers, then you will have support to do so. Either way, you will be a key part of a collaborative management team working across our group of businesses.
About The Role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead our planning function during a period of growth. Responsibilities include:
* Strategic leadership of planning for quarrying, restoration, and redevelopment projects.
* Managing preparation and submission of planning applications, EIAs, and local plan representations.
* Liaison with planning authorities, environmental regulators, consultants, local government, and community stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
* Overseeing external planning and technical consultants to ensure high-quality outputs and coordinated submissions.
This is a varied role, offering a range of different projects to get involved with.
What are we looking for in you?
* MRTPI (or equivalent) qualified town planner, and ideally a relevant first degree.
* A proven track record of delivering complex mineral, waste, or land-based planning permissions.
* An excellent understanding of the planning process, EIA regulations, and the planning policy landscape across South East England.
* Diplomatic and skillful stakeholder engagement, consultation, and navigating multi-agency approvals, plus strong report writing, project leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
On offer is a highly competitive salary and a range of benefits, including 25 days' holiday entitlement (plus bank holidays), car allowance, pension, and group life assurance scheme. You will need a full driving license for site visits.
