Senior Administrator - Personal Insolvency
Main Purpose of Job
Working within the Personal Insolvency team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of technical Personal Insolvency services on individual portfolios and provide guidance to more junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, control, and proactively maintain a portfolio of personal insolvency cases.
* Have thorough knowledge of Bankruptcies and IVAs; knowledge of corporate insolvency and their interaction with individuals would be a benefit.
* Draft necessary reports to unsecured creditors, secured creditors, creditors’ committees, and the Court.
* Deal with and adjudicate on retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims with assistance if necessary.
* Attend at trading premises when necessary.
* Carry out investigations to uncover claims for preferences, transactions at undervalue, etc.
* Prepare associated documentation for statutory meetings.
* Oversee or prepare accurate books and records inventories, and take responsibility for the safeguard, removal, and storage of such from premises.
* Maximise asset realisations and ensure recoveries are pursued in a proactive and cost-effective way.
* Complete VAT returns and reclaims.
* Liaise with professional agents and advisors.
* Produce good quality reports and letters.
* Deal with various stakeholders by telephone and generate comprehensive and accurate file notes.
* Monitor, maintain, and update checklists, together with IPS diary lines.
* Monitor costs to ensure that fees are drawn at appropriate stages, in accordance with resolutions passed by creditors.
* Deal with day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard items.
* Adhere to statutory compliance and current legislation (Insolvency Act), best practice, and Quantuma policies and procedures.
* Participate in internal and external marketing events, building relationships with other firms.
General
* Complete assignments for Managers & MDs to the level required.
* Manage workflow and delegate appropriate tasks.
* Attend/chair meetings, prepare minutes, and follow through on the action points arising.
* Mentor trainees (including manage delegation and on-the-job training) and review their work.
* Maintain referrer & client relationships and confidentiality.
Reporting, Relationships & Management
* Report to Assistant Managers, Managers, Directors, and Partners.
* Delegate work to Trainees and Administrators.
* Manage a caseload of own cases in addition to assisting others in the team.
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills Required
* Minimum of 3 years of insolvency experience required.
* Working towards or CPI qualified.
* Good compliance skills with limited supervision.
* Ability to anticipate and communicate problems to others in the team.
* Effective use of IT including Excel, Word, Outlook, IPS, and VC.
* Maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice.
* Apply knowledge of Quantuma, industry, markets, and core client base, highlighting potential business opportunities to line manager.
* Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively while being flexible.
* Build rapport with peers internally and externally.
* Aware of relevant financial targets and constraints and contribute to achieving these, keeping line manager informed of progress.
* Convert options into recommendations and resolutions.
* Understand the need for continuous learning.
