We are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support a growing commercial team on a permanent, full‑time basis at a reputable main contractor based in Kent.
This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio across the South East, including refurbishment, heritage and new build schemes. It is a full‑time, office‑based position.
The client has created a new position due to a strong pipeline of secured work and steady growth. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership—including Directors and the Contracts Manager—to deliver multiple projects with values ranging from £100k to £2m, extending to £3m‑£4m.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities
* Managing the commercial aspects of several live projects simultaneously
* Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports
* Procuring subcontractors and overseeing package management
* Reviewing subcontractor applications and recommending payments
* Producing and maintaining CVRs and cost forecasts
* Managing variations and change control with clients and the supply chain
* Assisting with final accounts on both subcontract and main contract sides
* Undertaking measurements and take‑offs to support project delivery
* Working closely with site teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment
* Building and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships
Quantity Surveyor Requirements
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment
* Background in refurbishment and/or new build projects (heritage experience advantageous)
* Strong measurement and re‑measurement capabilities
* Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes independently
* Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk effectively
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
* Comfortable working within a close‑knit team environment
