Role description
We are recruiting an Associate Technical Director to join our Geo-Environmental team. This role will support the National Heads of Discipline to undertake key leadership activities such as:
* Act as a senior point of contact for the SER team within the region.
* Direct and deliver projects at a Project Director level across geo-environmental and Contract SI projects.
* Support development and implementation of team structure and growth plan, including workforce planning and succession.
* Improve resourcing coordination for the GA team.
Role accountabilities
Leadership
* Model Arcadis Values & Behaviours.
* Collaborate with the HoD to develop recruitment and succession plans.
* Support GEC integration and promote the competency matrix.
* Work with SER leads to foster a positive community and build a high‑performing GeoENV team.
Growth
* Support SER growth in Scotland.
* Act as regional focal point for client interactions, supporting account leads.
* Provide technical support/assurance for bids.
* Identify growth opportunities with broader Arcadis GBAs/City Execs.
* Manage and develop our supply chain.
Workload demands & resourcing
* Coordinate with SER Resource Planners to maintain an overview of workload demands.
* Implement forecasting systems and align resources to competency and project needs.
Recruitment
* Develop recruitment plans aligned to market needs and future growth.
Technical
* Broad experience and expertise in geo‑environmental engineering.
* Contract coordination and large‑scale project management.
* Commercial acumen.
* Champion of health, safety and environmental management.
Qualifications & experience
* 15+ years of experience.
* Chartered or equivalent.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Proven technical skills aligned to the discipline.
