Job Title: Production Supervisor - Food/ Fresh Produce
Location: Near Howden, East Yorkshire
Salary: £33,696 + Benefits
Hours: 48 hours/week, 5-day rota including weekends and bank holidays
Reporting To: Harvesting Manager
Role Overview
Supporting the Harvesting Manager, you will oversee daily harvesting activities, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and team motivation. This hands-on leadership role includes maintaining hygiene, health & safety compliance, and optimising labour across harvesting operations. You will also cover in the absence of the Harvesting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and allocate staff within harvesting areas for maximum output
Monitor product quality (e.g., size, presentation)
Enforce hygiene, health & safety, and product specifications
Motivate and train harvesters to achieve performance targets
Conduct pre- and post-harvest checks and manage forecasts
Ensure accurate documentation and tool control
Liaise with other departments to maintain smooth operations
Support compliance with food safety (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP) standards
Maintain cleanliness using clean as you go principles
Support continuous improvement initiatives
