About the role
You will be responsible for accurate stock management planning and forecasting for your range, managing optimum stock levels to ensure availability and profit targets are delivered.
Working closely with the Senior Buyer in your area, you will analyze range performance, launch new products, and deliver long-term improvements in availability and waste.
What you will do:
Forecasting & Inventory Planning:
* Proactively drive sales and availability through effective forecasting and inventory planning.
* Manage and maintain the accuracy of all product and supplier data.
* Be accountable for availability and waste in your category.
* Collaborate with the wider Purchasing Team to ensure smooth seasonal product transitions and event planning (e.g., Christmas).
* Handle daily fluctuations in pricing and ensure daily data accuracy.
Supplier Management:
* Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure delivery accuracy and meet our On Time, In Full (OTIF) targets.
* Conduct regular supplier service reviews.
* Ensure timely payments to suppliers.
Stakeholder Management:
* Communicate effectively and build relationships within operational IT and Sales Teams to ensure optimal stock management throughout the supply chain.
* Coordinate with Operations Teams to plan supplier deliveries and collections across the UK and Europe.
* Ensure product quality throughout the supply chain by working with QC teams to drive continual improvements in quality and freshness.
What you will need:
* Experience in a buying assistant or supply planning role within the food industry.
* Understanding of negotiation and supplier management.
* An owner mentality with proven experience in continuous improvement and process change implementation.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to identify opportunities.
