Behaviour Support Officer Grade 5 Lliswerry High School
Salary: Grade 5 SCP 12 - 17 ( £27,711 - £30,060 )
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual with relevant work experience to work with the school's inclusion team from 1st September 2025. The role involves working under the guidance of the school leadership team, collaborating closely with the Senior Behaviour Support Officer and staff across the school to deliver pastoral and learning support to learners in the Inclusion Room (IR) office.
You will also supervise learners who are excluded or not following a normal timetable.
The role focuses on addressing learners' needs to overcome barriers to learning, supporting individuals and groups to access learning, and assisting teachers in managing learners within and outside the classroom.
You will work closely with learners, providing advice and information to help them make decisions about their learning, behaviour, and attendance. Motivating and challenging learners, promoting their self-esteem, and supporting their access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources are key aspects of this role.
Patience, understanding, resilience, a caring attitude, and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.
