Finance Yorkshire Group supports business growth across the region. Finance Yorkshire Group’s funds provides flexible investment packages to eligible Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) based or locating to areas within Yorkshire and Humber with the ambition to expand, create jobs and improve productivity. Finance Yorkshire was established in 2010 as a £112 million Fund to provide SMEs across Yorkshire and the Humber with funding to start, grow and prosper. The Fund provided Seedcorn, Loan and Equity-linked investments ranging from £15,000 to £2 million, to help SME businesses raise gap funding alongside co-investment from private sector investors and commercial banks.
Working alongside financial intermediaries and other lenders and investors, Finance Yorkshire had fully invested its funds by 2017 and had already realised sufficient capital from its loan and equity investments to start a new Fund in 2021(Finance Yorkshire Investments Limited (FYI)) to reinvest this legacy whilst continuing to create further capital availability from its remaining portfolio of investments. The new fund has been structured to provide SMEs with a range of support through Seedcorn and Growth Fund (primarily equity) investments, alongside large and small Business Loans. It will invest from its inception more than £50m to SMEs over the next five years.
Finance Yorkshire Group manages its investment activities through its specialised independent Fund Management teams. By investing in opportunities across Yorkshire and the Humber and successfully recovering its investment capital through loan repayments and equity exits, Finance Yorkshire Group continues to invest and support SMEs in the region for the long term.
