AVP - UI Software engineerJob Description
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
1. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
2. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
3. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
4. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technologymunities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
5. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
6. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

7. To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
8. For an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation toplete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying abination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required oues.
9. Consult onplex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
10. Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control andernance agenda.
11. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
12. Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
13. Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
14. Engage inplex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams,panies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
15. Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve oues.

To be successful as an AVP - UI software engineer within this team, you should have experience with:
16. Advanced JavaScript & ES6+ - Core JavaScript concepts (closures, promises, async/await) and modern ES6+ features
17. React Core Concepts - Proficiency with hooks, context API,ponent lifecycle, state management (Redux/Zustand/Recoil), and performance optimization
18. Modern Frontend Tooling - Experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite), package managers (npm, yarn), and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
Some other highly valued skills may include:
19. TypeScript - Type safety implementation in React applications for improved code quality and developer experience
20. CSS-in-JS &ponent Libraries - Experience with styledponents, Emotion, or Material UI/Chakra UI/Tailwind CSS
21. Performance Optimization - Code splitting, lazy loading, memorization techniques, and Lighthouse/Web Vitals optimization
