Job Overview
I am a young man of primary school age. My mother and I would like to employ a personal assistant to help me to participate in social activities, engage with my peers and to allow my mum to have some time to herself.
I am a lively young person who requires a lot of supervision; this is especially important when I am out of the house. Sometimes I may display challenging behaviour, so it is essential that my PA has experience of dealing with things like this. Familiarity is important to me; I will need my PA to help me develop routines and activities which are familiar and engaging.
I enjoy going swimming, playing on the beach, going to the park, and attending the Sgiliau Play Centre. I would also like to attend after school clubs too. In the house I love to play video games and listen to music. I also enjoy being creative and spending time in the kitchen baking.
Responsibilities
Provide supervision for the child during school, social activities, and home.
Assist in developing and maintaining routines and engaging activities.
Support the child’s participation in planned outings such as swimming, beach, park visits, and after school clubs.
Help with household activities such as video gaming, music, creative projects, baking.
Requirements
Experience dealing with challenging behaviour and working with children.
Enhanced DBS check required – no cost to the applicant.
Must be eligible to work in the UK and provide a valid National Insurance number.
Provide two satisfactory references if requested by the employer.
Must be willing to complete any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. Training costs will be covered.
Additional Details
This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer. You will be employed by that individual and not Ceredigion County Council. This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4‑weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
