Job Description

3. Lead the finance department and oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
4. Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals and sustainability.
5. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes effectively.
7. Ensure robust financial controls and risk management frameworks are in place.
8. Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.
9. Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
10. Provide guidance and leadership to the finance team, fostering professional development.

The Successful Applicant

Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge.Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a coaching style and strong delegation skills.Strategic Capability: Demonstrated experience in shaping financial strategy, managing budgets, and influencing senior stakeholders.Sector Knowledge: Confidence in working within highly regulated environments, ideally with charity governance and SORP experience.Risk & Compliance Expertise: Skilled in risk management, audit processes, and safeguarding responsibilities.Systems & Process Improvement: Experience in modernizing finance systems and driving transformational change.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, able to influence and build collaborative relationships with trustees, volunteers, and external partners.Personal Attributes: Values-driven, inclusive, innovative, and highly analytical with strong emotional intelligence and ability to inspire others.
