Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners globally.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
Help manage compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and network policies across jurisdictions.
Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice on their activities.
Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and specialized legal issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
Provide practical, business-oriented advice while managing risk and compliance obligations.
Make presentations and publish articles on key legal topics.
Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
Strong legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
Strategic risk management skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
Expertise in negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Ability to work independently and manage complex cases while collaborating with teams.
Balance the needs of a growing global business with legal and compliance risk management.
Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
