About The Role
We’re looking for a talented Design Manager to join our team in Derby. Reporting to the Design Business Lead for Waste Treatment & Bioresources North, you will play a key role in delivering Severn Trent’s capital investment programme. You will lead a programme of design activity and an integrated team of Severn Trent design professionals to develop engineering solutions for a wide range of waste treatment and bioresources projects.
In This Role, You Will
* Lead and mentor your team, building capability and driving performance.
* Manage resources and have financial accountability for your programme of works, approving and assuring designs in accordance with our AMP8 programme.
* Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders, shaping solutions that meet sponsor requirements.
* Champion innovation, identifying opportunities for the development and introduction of new processes and technologies.
* Put customers at the forefront, ensuring decisions create long‑term value and support high‑quality asset management.
* Act as a role model and promote positive safety leadership within the organisation and fulfil the role of Principal Designer in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015.
What You’ll Bring
Ideally you hold a degree (or equivalent) in a technical engineering or design‑related discipline and have experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams with strong skills in coaching and developing talent. You have led design projects in a highly regulated industry such as water, gas, petrochemicals or power. You bring excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, can build relationships with a diverse range of people, are forward‑thinking, and can anticipate challenges, respond to change and make educated judgments in ambiguous situations.
A full UK driving licence is required.
