Overview
North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated full-time radiographer to lead the MRI safety team, based at Southmead Hospital. The role supports the MRI management team to deliver MR services for patients and users in North Bristol NHS Trust, ensuring professional and patient-centred delivery. The MRI Safety Radiographer position is Band 7 within a dynamic Imaging department and involves leading a team across multiple MRI scanners at the main site and a community site.
Main duties
* Lead the MRI safety team within a busy Imaging department.
* Coordinate safety requirements for several different teams and safely perform a wide range of MRI examinations.
* Work across inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department scanning.
* Participate in a 7.30am – 9.30pm rota Monday to Friday with some weekend work and a 24-hour on-call service as part of Band 7 radiographers.
Responsibilities and environment
Southmead Hospital is a regional Trauma Centre with regional specialties including Neurosurgery and Urology. North Bristol Trust has five MRI scanners on the main site and one at a community site. The role requires excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and prior MRI experience.
Qualifications and experience
* Preferably at least two years of experience in the MR modality with at least 2 years post-qualifying experience. This is not an MR training post.
* Postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
* UK registration (HCPC) required.
* Evidence of CPD required.
* Cross-sectional imaging experience and familiarity with GE, Siemens and Philips systems are desirable.
