We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Services Solutions Director to act as the strategic bridge between our Technical Central function and our Commercial team.
This senior role is central to developing competitive, innovative, and technically assured solutions that fully align with client requirements, our technical services strategy, and our delivery model.
The successful candidate will be a proven technical leader with deep Hard FM expertise and a strong background in commercial activity, particularly within bids and client engagement.
Job Description
We are looking for an individual who can influence at a senior level, build strong relationships, and instil confidence through exceptional communication and credibility.
Acting as the technical face of our business during key retention and bidding stages, they will coordinate engineering and commercial activities, ensure governance, and safeguard the translation of bid commitments into successful operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead solution design and governance for technical services content on large and complex bids.
* Develop and implement a ‘bid to operations’ framework for all non-complex bids and upsell opportunities, ensuring alignment to technical strategy, Safe Systems of Work, capabilities and governance.
* Oversee risk management and technical assurance when migrating costed solutions from bid phase into mobilisation and operational delivery.
* Act as the central point of contact within the engineering function for all commercial activity, collaborating closely with the commercial team.
* Represent technical services as the key client-facing SME in presentations and meetings throughout the bid and retention lifecycle.
* Engage and coordinate technical SMEs to support the development of robust and competitive bid solutions.
* Provide market intelligence through deep understanding of competitor offerings and ISS differentiators to drive competitive advantage.
* Contribute to sustainable growth by ensuring quality of bid submissions, improving win rates, and driving consistency across commercial solutions.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Extensive Hard FM technical background, ideally at Head of Technical or Technical Director level.
* Strong commercial experience, particularly in bidding and client-facing technical roles.
* Exceptional communication, influence and relationship-building skills; able to make strong impressions in commercial environments.
* Ability to instil confidence with clients, senior stakeholders and internal teams.
* Proven experience operating at senior level across both technical and commercial functions.
* UK driving licence (travel to client sites as required).
