Job purpose
We are looking for a qualified Commercial Gas, Multi Skilled Engineer with gas, HVAC and mechanical bias, to provide and maintain a high level of building maintenance and support to our client.
The Engineer is expected to carry out the day to day planned preventative maintenance, reactive and project work.
We are looking for someone who can anticipate, diagnose and repair faults. You would be expected to complete these tasks within a contractual timescale and making sure that all documentation is completed accurately and correctly.
Candidates will have substantial experience of maintenance, testing and fault finding in a variety of plant equipment such as gas boilers, heating plants pumps and ventilation.
The Engineer will be part of a team of multi-skilled technical support staff that ensure that the service provided meets the contractual requirements and complies with all relevant regulations and laws, as well as supporting other service streams on the contract when necessary, to maintain service delivery and quality of service as per our contract with a pro-active approach, to carry out any duties that are within your capabilities, and to assist with any other reasonable requirements as directed by your line manager.
You will assist in supervising contractors and sub-contractors and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations.
You should be capable of having a flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive), with a pro-active and positive approach to work.
You will be expected to effectively prioritise your own workload whilst assisting other engineers/staff with their duties as required, being aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
You should have strong knowledge and be able to undertake all facets of maintenance, reactive and chargeable works / installation requirements as required, in line with the scope of the contract. The Building services engineers will be responsible within the site team to ensure that all the electrical and mechanical aspects of the site perform safely, effectively and efficiently.
You shall ensure all reactive calls are closed out in line with contractual time scales or extended under the contract agreement. Ensuring all compliance documentation, files and auditing tools are maintained.
You will also be expected to anticipate, diagnose and repair faults, recording accurately on work sheets and computer-based system, and complete any ADHOC duties assigned.
You will be responsible for ensuring equipment and plant/rooms/services are kept clean, safe, and secure.
The ideal candidate will have time served apprenticeships with the relevant qualification. The ideal candidate would also have the following relevant gas qualification including COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CODNCO1 and a full UK Driving License along with relevant experience.
You should be committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
It is essential you can carry tools and equipment by hand of up to 20kg, be able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment, work at heights, are available to join a call out rota.
