We are seeking a positive and self-motivated person to provide administrative and general business support to the Private Sector Grants Team, within the Councils Regulatory Service area.
You will deal with enquiries and the processing of applications for Disabled Facilities Grants.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of all relevant records and the timely processing of invoices to contractors.
This is a very busy team and you will be required to work collaboratively with a wide range of external agencies and internal partners.
You will need to be well organised, efficient and articulate with good attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload.
You must have experience in business administration and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
As well as being proficient using Microsoft IT products including Excel and Outlook, you will be required to use other private sector housing IT database systems.
The duties of the post involve communicating with a wide range of service users and other agencies and you will need to demonstrate that you are able to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both verbally and in writing.
The role also involves the financial means-testing of applicants which requires a high level of numeracy and accuracy.
You will also be required to collect evidence of applicants income and savings and so you will need to be sensitive to the needs of older, disabled and vulnerable people and must be able to deal with confidential information appropriately.
You will occasionally need to visit people in their homes and, in recognition of this; the post attracts a casual car users allowance.
