Corporate Health and Safety Officer
£46,871 to £50,998 inclusive annual salary + Local Government Pension Scheme + Essential Car User Allowance.
Permanent, full‑time (37 hours per week).

This key role works across all service areas, promoting a positive safety culture, managing organisational risk, and ensuring incidents, risks, and compliance issues are identified, investigated, and addressed.
About you
Experienced, proactive and confident professional, capable of leading Health & Safety and compliance within a complex organisation. Key attributes:
* Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice; ability to interpret and apply at the organisational level.
* Proven ability to lead, develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
* Excellent analytical skills; ability to assess risk, challenge constructively and support informed decision‑making.
* Ability to provide clear, authoritative advice and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
* Experience leading audit, inspection or assurance activity and embedding learning into practice.
* Strong organisational skills; ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent expertise.
