Due to a retirement, we are looking for a new band 6 Specialist Kidney Dietitian. This is a 37.5‑hour post.
Responsibilities:
* Manage dietetic care for consultant‑led renal clinics and provide cover to a haemodialysis satellite unit, dialysing over 100 patients per week.
* Clinically manage a caseload of patients with complex kidney needs on the dialysis unit and as outpatients, and attend MDT treatment discussion meetings.
* Supervise Band 5 Rotational Dietitians and students.
* Support the Clinical Lead Dietitian to continually develop and evolve the Renal Dietetic team, providing guidance, training and policies.
* Support the wider Dietetic team.
* Primarily based at Blackburn Dialysis unit, expected to work across all East Lancashire Dietetic localities.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues at Preston as part of the MDT on the dialysis units.
Team structure: Band 7 Clinical Lead Dietitian, Band 6 Specialist Dietitian, Band 5 Rotational Dietitians, supported by clinical support workers. The Department has over 70 staff, 45 dietitians, with assistants and admin staff. EMIS is used for outpatients and Cerner for inpatients; Renal Dietitians also have access to pathology and record systems from the Renal Hub at Preston.
