Overview
Larksfield Supported Living is based in Wisbech and supports adults with a learning disability and/or physical disability. We aim to enable adults with a disability to live as independently as possible and to enjoy lifestyles as close to those enjoyed by other members of the community. We support and empower adults with a learning disability, or older people, to enhance the quality of their life, maximize potential and continue to promote and develop independence skills within their home.
The role includes promoting life skills development, providing planned activities and supporting people with a disability. You will report to the Registered Manager to ensure the service works towards its vision in line with Care Quality Commission regulations.
Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date information within the service, including care plans, medication management and recording, risk assessments, safeguarding and accident and incident reports.
* Undertake audits and quality assurance checks.
* Attend meetings with professionals and work within Mental Capacity legislation and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
* Take responsibility for complex health issues and medication management for service users.
* Provide daily living support and advice within local communities.
* Manage and supervise a team of staff, providing individual and group support, supervision and ensuring adequate staff cover.
* Oversee staff development and complete a comprehensive training programme.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience working with people with disabilities or vulnerable adults.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills.
* Proactive, creative thinking and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Understanding of confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
* Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject.
Working Hours & Conditions
* Various shifts during the week between 7am–11pm.
* Sleep‑ins, bank holidays and one weekend in four, with enhancements paid.
