What are we looking for?
We are looking for passionate, committed, and resilient Personal Advisors who believe in the potential of young people and are dedicated to helping care leavers thrive as they move into adulthood.
You will be someone who can build trust, communicate with clarity and empathy, and work alongside young people to support their education, employment, housing, and independence. You'll understand that care leavers often face complex challenges, and you'll bring patience, creativity, and a genuine young‑person‑centred approach to every interaction.
About the job:
As a Personal Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting care leavers and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking young people as they transition into adulthood. You'll act as their consistent point of contact, ensuring they receive the right advice, practical help, and emotional support to build independence, confidence, and stability.
You will work with young people aged 17–25, helping them access education, training, employment, housing, and financial entitlements. A key part of your role will be reviewing Pathway Plans, ensuring each young person is at the centre of their plan and actively involved in decisions about their future.
This is a hands‑on, dynamic role that requires a flexible approach including occasional evening work and the ability to travel across the borough and further when needed.. You'll keep accurate records, follow established policies and procedures, and ensure young people receive safe, ethical, and high‑quality support.

You listen without judgement, understand their experiences, and help them build confidence to find their own solutions. You stay calm, flexible and resilient in challenging situations, bringing a steady, supportive presence. With a positive, can‑do attitude, you take responsibility for your work and development.
