A forward-thinking building consultancy is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to join their specialist team.
This Graduate Fire Engineer role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, sustainable building design while developing technical expertise within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Graduate Fire Engineer’s Role
The Graduate Fire Engineer will support the delivery of fire engineering solutions from early design through to project completion. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting with fire strategy development for a variety of building types
* Supporting CFD modelling, smoke movement analysis, and evacuation modelling
* Producing calculations, sketches, diagrams, and fire strategy reports
* Working closely with architects, structural engineers, and wider design teams
* Identifying potential fire safety challenges and supporting mitigation strategies
* Assisting in the review of designs against UK Building Regulations and industry standards
* Participating in design meetings and workshops alongside senior engineers
* Using engineering software and digital tools to support technical delivery
* Contributing to data collection, analysis, and documentation for projects
* Delivering tasks in line with agreed deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations
The Graduate Fire Engineer
The ideal Graduate Fire Engineer will be motivated to build a long-term career within fire engineering and demonstrate strong technical foundations.
Key requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in Fire Engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering)
* A Master’s degree in Fire Engineering or similar is advantageous
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Clear written and verbal communication abilities
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt within a fast-paced environment
* A genuine interest in fire engineering and the built environment
